Green Energy Transition Facility (GEFT)
With support from the Green Energy Transition Facility (GETF), We are implementing the Chikumbe Solar Irrigation Project to expand access to solar-powered irrigation systems for smallholder rice farmers.
The project is deploying 50 fully installed solar irrigation systems offered on flexible credit terms, making clean energy technology affordable and accessible. By shifting farmers from rain-fed to solar-powered irrigation, the initiative increases productivity, strengthens climate resilience, and improves household incomes while reducing reliance on diesel pumps.
EnDev Putting Energy to work, Results-Based Financing Project
Through the Energising Development (EnDev) Results-Based Financing (RBF) programme, we are expanding access to affordable solar irrigation solutions for smallholder farmers.
Under this initiative, we supply and install high-quality solar-powered irrigation systems, with incentives disbursed based on verified installations and performance. The RBF model enables us to reduce upfront costs for farmers, maintain high technical standards, and scale clean energy adoption in rural communities.
